CMI is expanding, and we're looking for a Health and Safety Associate to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance.Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions (e.g., ladders, stormwater outfalls, chemical storage).Develop and maintain EHS documents, including JSAs, LOTO, Confined Space, and Machine Guarding assessments.Ensure safe working behaviors, such as proper PPE usage and LOTO execution.Provide training on safety protocols, emergency response, and environmental awareness.Investigate accidents and near-misses, and create reports with preventive recommendations.Foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance.Support the behavior-based safety program through observations, data collection, and employee interaction.Requirements and Experience: 5 plus years working as a safety trainer and consultantExperience training a wide variety of safety coursesAbility to create safety presentationsEngaging and personable presenterExperience writing workplace risk assessmentsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work under tight deadlinesAbility to travel up to 25%Education and Credentials: Bachelor's degree in a Health and Safety disciplineProfessional credentials such as ASP, SMS, OHST or CHSTOSHA 501First Aid CPR InstructorPhysical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and walkingAbility to climb a ladder.Ability to stoop, crawl and bendAbility to lift up to 30lbsOther Requirements: Background check and potential drug screening required for the positionOvertime and flexible working hours may be necessary based on project demandsResidence within a reasonable commuting distanceThis job description is subject to change at any time.
