GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Healthcare Data Analyst for Health Alliance Plan (HAP) provides comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis to support corporate wide strategic decision making as it relates to medical cost savings initiatives.
Works with a variety of data sources, both internal and external, big and small, structured and unstructured formats.
Effectively communicate findings to both business and non-technical audiences in an engaging and persuasive manner.
The person solves analytical problems and develops cutting edge solutions to business problems.
Should also be skilled at extracting, transforming, and analyzing data using a variety of common analytical tools and statistical techniques.
The position requires a team player that is eager to continue to learn and evolve with business needs and changes in the data and business environment

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Leverages appropriate data analytics techniques to drive the creation of insights from data.
Performs analyses related to medical cost-saving initiatives, key performance indicators, provider contract efficiency, and compliance with quality standards.
Performs cost benefit analysis for key organizational programs and initiatives impacting medical cost and performance.
Interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments for a multi-department audience.
Creates and presents clear, engaging presentations that highlight key findings, explain the analytical methods used, outline future analyses and implications, and identify opportunities for business improvements.
Stays current on data science and analytics tools, techniques, and practices.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in fast paced environment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must have an undergraduate (BS) degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Public Health, and Finance or another related field.
Three plus (3+) years of progressive analytical work experience in healthcare or managed care/insurance settings, focusing on quantitative data analysis.
Two plus (2+) years of experience with problem solving using data analytics tools like R, SAS, or Python.
Advanced SQL skills working with RDBMSs such as Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
Experience working with data visualization tools or Data Visualization Designers in Power BI or Tableau.
Also, experience with data visualization for analytic models in Rshiny, GGPlot, Qlik, Alteryx, Flask, D3, etc.

Proficiency in Excel.
