***THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ENLISTMENT IN THE U.S. ARMY OR ARMY RESERVE*** As a Practical Nursing Specialist in the U.S. Army or Army Reserve, you will be responsible for supervising or performing preventative, therapeutic, and emergency nursing care procedures under the supervision of a physician, nurse, or non-commissioned officer.

Job Duties Perform emergency nursing care Assist in patient care Change and dress wounds Experience Because the U.S. Army provides training for all of our military occupational specialties, no specific experience in the medical field is necessary.

Candidates who have successfully completed a state approved course in practical or vocational nursing and have successfully passed the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) and possess current unrestricted state (or United States Territory) license as practical or vocational nurse may be exempt from some training requirements.

Training Job training to become a practical nursing specialist consists of 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 52 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Full-time opportunities on Active Duty in the Regular Army are available at U.S. Army Installations across the country and around the world.
