Job Summary : The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential, and commercial settings. The role requires a high level of technical expertise, customer service skills, and an understanding of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities : Diagnosis and Repair : Troubleshoot HVAC systems to identify malfunctions and perform necessary repairs. This includes diagnosing issues with refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical components. Preventative Maintenance : Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems to ensure proper functioning and prevent future breakdowns. Installation : Install new HVAC systems and related equipment such thermostats, following manufacturer specifications and local codes. Customer Communication : Clearly communicate diagnostic results, service plans, and repair options to customers. Provide estimates for repairs and installations. Safety Compliance : Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when working with HVAC systems, including the proper handling of refrigerants and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Documentation : Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, parts used, and system conditions. Ensure proper documentation of all service calls for billing and warranty purposes. Continuous Learning : Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and codes by attending training sessions and obtaining relevant certifications. Qualifications : Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in HVAC systems is preferred. Licenses and Certifications : EPA Certification (required), NATE certification or equivalent (preferred) Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an HVAC technician or related role. Knowledge of HVAC system diagnostics, repair, and installation. Skills : Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team Proficiency with HVAC tools, equipment, and software Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
