Position: Heavy Civil Project Manager
We are in search of a dynamic and motivated Project Manager with a background in the heavy civil construction industry. This full-time, direct-hire position encompasses a wide range of potential responsibilities, including but not limited to excavation and grading, underground utilities, asphalt or concrete paving/placement, and roadway/bridge construction.
As the Project Manager, your primary role will be to oversee and manage construction projects. You will collaborate with Project Engineers, Estimators, Superintendents, and other team members to ensure client and subcontractor satisfaction in alignment with project objectives, goals, and specifications. The candidate will actively participate in the conceptual development of construction projects, overseeing their organization, scheduling, and implementation from mobilization to closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate project proposals or plans to determine timelines, budget constraints, project procedures, staffing needs, and available resources for various project phases.
* Develop work plans and staffing requirements for each project phase and arrange for the recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
* Collaborate with project staff to outline work plans, assign duties and responsibilities, and delegate authority.
* Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses according to the schedule and within the prescribed budget.
* Review status reports from project personnel and make necessary schedule and plan adjustments.
* Prepare project reports for management, clients, and other stakeholders.
* Consult with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve any issues that may arise.
* Coordinate project activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors.
* Possess a deep understanding of project scheduling and the ability to analyze and execute project schedules.
* Perform other assigned tasks and duties as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Preferred degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer with a Heavy Civil Construction Contractor.
* Strong working knowledge of construction practices and procedures.
* Prioritizes safety as a fundamental concern.
