MV/HV ELECTRICIAN LOCATION: MSAB, Jordan POSITION SUMMARY: The MV/HV Electrician will report to the Power Plant Supervisor and is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of power plant systems, including electrical and mechanical components for facilities operating at 5-85 MW. Key duties include managing medium and high voltage switchgear systems, troubleshooting underground networks, and performing installations of transformers and cables. The role requires a minimum of five years of experience in HV/MV electrical systems, along with a Secret Clearance, US Passport, and relevant safety training. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in diesel power generation, risk management, and team training, with a commitment to safety and operational excellence. SALARY: $119,000 - $124,000 SCOPE/RESPONSIBILITIES: Report to Power Plant Supervisor Perform routine inspection, preventative maintenance, condition monitoring, corrective, and emergency repairs on power plant systems. Perform electrical maintenance and repair of power production electrical, mechanical, and auxiliary systems operating at 5-85Mw and greater total output with diesel driven prime movers. Operate and maintain the paralleling and main medium voltage switchgear systems, with local and remote monitor and metering capabilities, SCADA and PLC control systems. Perform installation, maintenance, repairs on electric power control equipment. Assist in the location and rectification of faults on the underground medium voltage networks. Assist with installation of underground cable, conduit, and ductwork. Install transformers; string power wires through ducts and manholes; make MV electrical connections; splice cables. Perform rigging on high voltage motors, transformers, and compressors. Assemble, repair, modify, replace, and install electrical quick-change assembly components. Check fields, armatures, wiring, commutators, and other electrical parts for continuity, voltage drop, ground shorts, opens, and overheating. When workload/mission/staffing levels dictate, assist w/ Power Plant operations. Assist Prime Contractor with procurement/materials staff with acquiring repair parts/consumables. Identify department risk/liability and develop work plans to manage ongoing risks Responds to emergency calls regarding power generation/distribution equipment. Attend daily Safety meetings/stand downs. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 5 years as licensed electrician with HV/MV electrical experience/IEEE credentials with an output capacity of 5-85Mw or greater. Must have experience in MV/HV electrical distribution systems with voltages of 4160, 11 & 13Kv. Must provide copies of training certificates in the Fundamentals of Electrical Safety based on NFPA 70E standards. Secret Clearance, US Passport and valid driver's license prior to deployment. Must satisfy the AFCENT Force Health Protection Guidance medical requirements for AFCENT prior to OCONUS mobilization, must be able to maintain a Medically Qualified (MQ) rating on an annual basis. Additional Required Qualifications: Experience with Synchronized Diesel Power Generators Willingness to attend formal OEM specific genset, electrical distribution equipment and/or controls training. Experience in providing prime power O&M Services to clients. Must be able to rescue an injured victim from an electrical conductor. Must know Lockout/Tagout Procedures. Experience in the Installation, Commissioning, Operation, and Maintenance of MV/LV Distribution Networks and associated Hardware and Switchgear. Experience in fault finding and rectifying in Underground Distribution Networks.
