Hiring Special Education Teacher 2024-2025 School Year

Position Overview: As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. You will work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing environment that promotes success for all students. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt and modify curriculum and instructional strategies. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary. Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to assessments and evaluations. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages respect, inclusion, and engagement. Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred). Valid VirginiaTeaching License in Special Education. Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
