*The ideal candidate will have:*
* Previous experience as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician, with experience in processing dermatological specimens
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of all technical aspects in the areas of histology and pathology, laboratory techniques, and quality control
* Ability to embed, cut, stain, and mount tissue specimens following established policies and procedures and laboratory standards.
* Grossing experience is required.
* Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with superiors, peers, physicians, and others.
* Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
*Education & Certifications:*
* High School Diploma required.
* Histotechnologist (HTL, ASCP) or Histotechnician (HT, ASCP) certification is preferred but not required.
* Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field acceptable if not certified.
*Qualifications:*
* Must have 1-2 years of experience working in a medical office.
* Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
* Strong phone etiquette.
* Teamwork.
* Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
* Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers.
* Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider's instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
* Strong organizational
* Strong organizational and computer skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Must pass a color vision test.
