JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma.
Associates Degree or work related experience.
Hold and maintain valid driver's license with no violations; Experienced with school-aged individuals and families.
Experienced in providing services involving school relations with the community at large;
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops positive working relationships among parents, school staff, and community agencies to enhance student achievement, promote student attendance, and increase student responsibility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a liaison between the home and the school so that efforts to help students are successful. Serve as a liaison between student, support groups, parents and others to assist in resolving student problems. Plan, organize, and implement parent and community programs designed to provide specialized services to support student achievement. Communicates directly with parents of students with excessive absences Conducts home visitations as needed Collaborates with the Administrative team and Title I Facilitator to develop strategies to increase student success Coordinate and or conduct workshops at local school in subjects that fit the needs and interests of the school's parents and community. Coordinate the involvement of parent /community leadership group (Parent Voice) to develop programs, workshop training, and volunteer opportunities Assist Administrative team and Title I Facilitator by tracking and reporting attendance, academic and behavioral progress of students being served and implement intervention strategies as needed, such as attendance, behavior, and academic contracts. Assist staff members in developing and implementing strategies to increase the academic, social and emotional success of all students. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and success through data collection such as surveys, student achievement, attendance, behavior, etc. Develop a school-based relationship with various community partners such as social service organizations, places of worship, community centers, businesses, etc. Maintain communication with administration and instructional staff of the school to identify the need for communication with parents. Assist parent and staff members in resolving concerns expressed by parents, teachers, and/or administrators.Maintain available and accessible support for parents to discuss various student achievement issues, to identify non-educational resources and for other parenting related issues.
