Job DescriptionThe Hospital Medicine Division of Children's National Hospital (CNH) has exciting opportunities for Pediatric Hospitalists to join a dynamic team that serves children in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. We are one of the largest divisions in the country and care for patients at 6 hospitals across the region. Our sites vary in their scope of patient care and there is flexibility with the open positions to work at one or a combination of the sites below.
ResponsibilitiesChildren's National Hospital, Washington, DC – Ranked #5 in the nation and #1 in Newborn Care. Provides clinical coverage of several services lines, including academic teams with various learners, complex care, perioperative care, and more.Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD – Provides 24/7 in-house coverage at this affiliated community hospital, including an inpatient pediatric unit and newborn nursery.Hospital for Sick Children, Washington, DC – Provides daytime clinical coverage at our post-acute and rehabilitation facility.Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA – Provides 24/7 in-house coverage at this affiliated community hospital, including a 10-bed pediatric unit.Stafford Hospital, Stafford, VA – Provides 24/7 in-house coverage, including a newborn nursery and pediatric consultations.Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA – Provides both in-house and home-call coverage at this affiliated community hospital.Applicants should have excellent communication and leadership skills, an interest in evidence-based care and process improvement, and enjoy working collaboratively with families and others on the healthcare team. QualificationsMinimum Education:
Medical Doctor (M.D.) Medical degree from an accredited medical school (Required)
Minimum Work Experience:
0 years (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in the area of expertise. Ability to function independently in evaluating patient problems and developing a plan for patient care.
Licenses and CertificationsFully licensed and credentialed attending staff category physician on the medical staff of Children's National Medical Center (Required). Board certified or eligible for board certification in primary practice specialty (Required).
