Education/Qualification: Doctoral Degree MD/DO, Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine or Equivalent Foreign DiplomaTraining: Internal Medicine Residency from ACGME accredited training programFamily Medicine Residency with minimum 3 years of experience as HospitalistFamily Medicine Residency with Hospital Medicine FellowshipCertification(s) and License(s): Eligible for/Current VA Medical LicenseBoard Certified or Board Eligible (if within 3 years of completing residency) by ABIM/ABFMCurrent DEASkills: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.Collaborative approach with other providers and clinical/nonclinical staffHigh Emotional Quotient to be successful in complex healthcare/acute care settingAbility to prioritize tasks based on urgency and manage stress in a high paced environment.Proficiency in using EMR.Procedural skills (not required but encouraged)In this role, you will be specializing in internal medicine and being certified in hospital medicine. You will confine your practice within a hospital setting and specialize in medical issues that are relevant to your field of study. The hospitalist group is responsible for taking over the in-hospital care for our patients. You will consult health records and diagnosis taken by the patient's primary care physician. You will serve as the sole provider during the patient's hospital stay while coordinating their care.
