Job Summary We are seeking a motivated hotel Chief Engineer with a positive attitude and willingness to teach. One who is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the hotel's physical infrastructure, including its mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. They ensure the proper functioning of all equipment, supervise the maintenance staff, and coordinate with other hotel departments to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for guests and employees while following company and brand standards. Core Job Responsibilities & Duties ­­­­­­­Greets guests immediately with friendly/sincere acknowledgement throughout the hotelUnderstand and follow company and brand standardsDevelop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure the efficient operation of all systems and equipment in the hotelMust conduct regular inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate repairs as neededManage a team of maintenance technicians and ensure they are properly trained, motivated, and equipped to carry out their dutiesProvide guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure the highest level of productivity and professionalismOversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in the hotelEnsure elevators, fire safety systems, generators, water heaters, and other essential equipment are always operatingDevelop and manage the maintenance department's budget, including equipment purchases, repairs, and maintenance contractsMonitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality and safety standardsEnsure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental policiesConduct regular safety inspections, maintain accurate records, and address any issues promptly to minimize risks and liabilityPlan and oversee major renovation or construction projects within the hotelCollaborate with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure tasks are completed on a timely manner while adhering to budgetary constraintsFoster effective communication and collaboration with other hotel departments to address maintenance needs, coordinate repairs, and minimize disruptions to guestsProvide technical guidance and support to other departments as neededEnsure that all cleaning equipment & supplies are used and stored properly Qualification Standards & Company Requirements Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environmentAbility to tolerate environmental factors such as humidity, cold/heat, dust and noise.Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills requiredStrong organizational and project management abilitiesKnowledge of safety regulations and building codesPhysically able to work from ladders, move furniture, operate cleaning equipment, and tolerate exposure to general cleaning chemicalsSeveral years of experience in a supervisory role within the hotel or hospitality industry requiredStrong knowledge of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC requiredProficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specificationsProficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software(s) as required by hotelAbility to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; professional certification or licensure preferred *Please note that specific job requirements and responsibilities may vary depending on the company's policies, size, and other factors*
