The House Manager is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day functions in the house.
This includes securing the well-being and safety of the residents, supervising residential counselors and assistants and fixing/reporting maintenance and repair issues in the house, the vehicles, appliances and equipment.
The House Manager is directly responsible to the Residential Director.
The House Manager must be able to write coherent and succinct reports and must demonstrate the ability to organize and properly document that which is required by regulation and by Linwood.
The House Manager must also demonstrate an understanding of human rights and assure that the residents in the house are afforded these rights.
The House Manager must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Linwood's philosophy and demonstrate the ability to teach Linwood's methods and philosophy to others.
We are seeking: At least two (2) years of college and/or two (2) years' experience as a counselor working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
At least two (2) years of professional experience in a supervisory role Must be at least 21 years old (or 18 years old with an AA degree).
A skill set that includes the ability to interface in a professional manner with Linwood staff, parents, school system personnel and other professionals.
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills Key parts of the job: Participation in the development and implementation of Individualized Residential Treatment Plans.
Providing support and guidance to the residents in the house to ensure the following:o That the house, the appliances, the vehicles and the equipment are safe, operational and in good working order.
That the residents are engaged in meaningful activities that address the goals in their treatment plans.
That the rights of each resident in the house are protected.
Supervising and assisting the residents with menus, food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, laundry and other activities of daily living.
Assisting with the management of behavior to encourage the best possible residential experience.
During medical, dental and mental health appointments, the House Manager is an agent of Linwood and will exchange appropriate and accurate information with the healthcare professional and interact with the pharmacist to obtain medications.
The House Manager shall be trained by Linwood's nurses and will carry out the duties as Medication Assistants delegated by the nurses as prescribed by the Board of Nursing and DDA.
Assuring that appropriate coverage is maintained 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Assuming responsibility for the residents during the day when they are unable to attend school (e.g.
for holidays, school closings, inclement weather, etc.).
The supervisor will make every effort to arrange coverage, however, the final responsibility rests on the residential staff.
Interacting with and participating in consultations with supervisors and specialists as appropriate in order to assist in the implementation of the student's treatment plan.
Attending meetings to facilitate comprehensive program planning.
Preparing appropriate documentation and reports as assigned.
Pay Rate: $47,000 - $50,000
