Job Title: Housekeeping Assistant
Reports To: Director of Housekeeping & Laundry
Status: Non-Exempt
Positions Summary:
A Housekeeping Assistant is selected to perform cleaning tasks in order to maintain a clean and sanitary facility.
The housekeeper must be trained or experienced in the proper cleaning methods in accordance with the health and sanitation code requirements of the State and/or local authorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The building and all its parts and facilities shall be kept in clean, neat
and attractive. The safety and comfort of residents shall be the first
consideration. All walls, floors, ceilings, windows and fixtures shall be
kept clean. Interior walls and floors shall be of a character to permi
t frequent and easy cleaning. The facility shall be kept free of
unnecessary accumulations of personal possessions, boxes, trunks,
suitcases, papers, unused furniture, bed clothing, linens, bric-a-brac
and similar items. Patient's rooms will be cleaned daily. Pull furniture
out, as needed and dust all furniture. Dry and wet mop all floors
. Clean mirrors, bed frames, walls of rooms and hallways, including
trim along the bottom of walls and handrails. Patient bathrooms will
be cleaned twice daily. Clean sink, bathtub, and commode Wipe all
tile down, polish all fixtures and chrome, sweep and wet mop all
floors, and clean mirrors. Leave two rolls of toilet tissue in each
bathroom, replace soap and towels as needed. All patient bathrooms
should be thoroughly cleaned each day before 9:00 am and spot
cleaned twice thereafter. Dining rooms will be cleaned daily. Clean
tables with damp cloth, wipe down all tables and chairs. Keep food
cabinets clean in kitchen and dining areas. Floor must be swept and
mopped after breakfast and lunch. Replace tablecloths in dining area
during non-mealtimes. Nurses' stations will be cleaned daily. Clean
nurses station sinks and counter tops. Clean nurses' bathroom to
include the commode, sink, and mirror. Clean nurses' kitchen to
include food cabinets and counter top. All floors are to be swept and
mopped daily. Living rooms will be cleaned daily. Dust all furniture,
wipe down chairs as needed. Keep television screens clean. Patient
moves. Responsible for transferring the resident's belongings when resident is being transferred within your wing or off your wing.
Responsible for the cleaning of the unit in a normal discharge
manner. Empty and clean all wastebaskets. All paper towel
dispensers and toilet paper dispensers are to be checked and filled
daily. Follows the Compliance Plan of Medicare/Medicaid Fraud and
Abuse policy
