Corporate Center in Hydro is mainly located at Vækerø and has around 260 employees within the areas of Finance, People & Safety, Legal and Compliance, Communication & Public Affairs and Corporate Development.
Responsibility for supporting the Human Resources department. Acts as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external partners. Main administrative duties include maintaining personnel records, payroll & benefit administration, managing HR documents (e.g. employment records, orientation and onboarding training guides) and updating internal databases. Ensure our HR department supports our employees while conforming to labor laws.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain the personnel files, including process changes, employees' status, employee reviews and payroll records for the HR & payroll systems. Reliable in handling confidential, sensitive information Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Oversees production training matrix ensuring the data is accurate and orderly. Participates in internal & external training audits. Oversees Time and Attendance reporting system. Process Agency employee time records and reconcile agency invoices. Adjustments to be communicated to agency for correction. Set up new employee records, complete employee compliance paperwork to include I-9's and input information in computer systems. Maintain HR Computer systems information. Maintain and process employee badges, uniforms and lockers. Participate/Organize in engagement activities for employees. Assist in employee morale and other HR related initiatives. Answer employees queries about HR-related issues. Assist employees with benefits to include open enrollment. Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics, (e.g. turnover, absenteeism, manning and training). Maintains month end HR reports. Maintain Company data privacy of all PPI. Champions Hydro's safety, environmental and quality standards. Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions. Adheres to all company policies and procedures. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5 S standards. Requires the ability to perform all duties within limitation of the standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality and productivity requirements NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: N/A COMPETIENCIES: Collaboration Skills Decision Making and Problem Solving Written and Verbal Communication Proficiency Time Management, and Organizational Skills Ethical Conduct Technical and Analytical Capacity Results Driven WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. There will be a need to enter the production floor and employee may be subject to operate in a manufacturing production floor environment. Employee may be subject to hazards including odors, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, noise and temperatures. This requires ability to safely maneuver throughout the plant and properly wear safety gear at all times. May be subject to environmental conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Frequently sitting, use of hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands or arms, repetitive motion, close visual acuity. Occasional; stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employee frequently lifts up to 10 lbs. and occasional lifts or moves up to 25 pounds.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY: There are not supervisor responsibilities with this position.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time Salary Exempt position.  Normal hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Preferred - minimum of 1-3 years previous experience preferably in Human Resources with proven knowledge of federal and state labor laws. MBA in Human Resources Excellent interpersonal communication skills Excellent PC Skills (especially in Word and spreadsheet) Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient accurate manner. Good written and verbal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Ability to think critically and theoretically Knowledge of process related standards Proven ability to develop successful partnerships with internal and external team members.
