Full job description SUMMARY:
The HR Compliance Coordinator develops, implements and maintains effective compliance standards for all employee-related laws from a federal, state and local perspective within the Office of Human Resources. This position leads the compliance program to ensure adherence to legal requirements, such as Form I-9, FLSA Exemptions, Title IX, New Hire Reporting, PPACA-Form 1095C, IPEDS, 403b, 5500 and other relevant regulations.
JOB DUTIES:
Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs (i.e., Employment Discrimination, Sexual Harassment and Title IX Awareness, etc.).
Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
Develops methods and procedures for compiling and analyzing data for reports and special projects.
Conducts periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures (i.e., Form I-9, Employee File, Background Check, FLSA Exemptions, Job Descriptions, etc.).
Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state regulations, and policies (i.e., Form I-9, Title IX, New Hire Reporting, CES Bureau of Labor Statistics, IPEDS, etc.).
Manages the preparation of reports and applications as required including but not limited to: 403b, CMS, PPACA-Form 1095C, Retirement Plan Fee Disclosures and Minimum Distribution, etc.).
Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention from a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) perspective (i.e., Employee Resource Groups).
Answers nonroutine requests for information on policy interpretation.
Serves as a back-up to run the semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
The HR Compliance Coordinator position requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, three years of human resources experience, and five years of related experience in compliance. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred. Banner Ellucian preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
