JOB SUMMARY: This is a highly responsible position that acts as a Retirement Coordinator in the Office of Workforce Management (OWM) Human Resource Office providing HR consulting services for the Department of Revenue related to the Retirement process and collaborating with the Division of Retirement.

Duties include:
Act as subject matter expert for the Department, answering questions on complex or technical issues relating to DROP and Retirement, to ensure understanding of requirements and procedures. Provide employees with direction and assistance relative to DROP and Retirement (including disability retirement). Review and certify retirement and DROP paperwork before submission. Utilize the People First system and the retirement online system to process DROP and retirement paperwork, including updates to employee retirement codes. Identify and assist with written communications relative to Retirement and DROP. Run reports from the online system to address DROP ends, second elections/new hire elections, and the Department's active member lists. Check monthly for pending invoices Department wide and notifying Accounting. Review and certification of FRS reemployment forms as well as educate retired new hires on the reemployment process. Assist with the development and presentation of retirement information for semi-annual question and answer sessions. Complete forms and research necessary to report military absences to Retirement. Process leave audit for employees entering DROP and retiring. Assist in the establishment, review and implementation of internal policies and procedures as it relates to HR. Provide the Benefits Manager with input for updates and recommended policy and procedure improvements. Attend internal and external meetings and help assess impact of legislation and rule changes that may impact DROP and Retirement. Review Benefit web pages and pre-formatted communications and notify the Benefits Manager of necessary updates and recommendations for improvements. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: At least two (2) years of experience working in benefits or retirement applying rules, regulations, policies and procedures to employees and management. Knowledge and understanding of the Retirement Statutes, rules and regulations. Willing to become a Florida Notary Public. Must have experience writing HR-related correspondence and must be able to verbally communicate with customers about processes and required standards. Able to keep accurate records and analysis reports using different technologies and have excellent organizational skills. Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe Pro and have the ability to learn other programs. PREFERENCES: At least one (1) year of experience working in the People First System. Hands on experience working with retirement applications. Experience working in the Florida Retirement System (FRS). SALARY: $48,000.00 - $50,000.00.
