ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: First point of contact for basic personnel inquiries regarding - onboarding, benefits, assisting employees with navigating our payroll system (Paylocity) Open HR correspondence and distribute it to the Director of HR if needed Post vacant positions on-line (Paylocity), as directed by the Director of HR Assist Director of HR with new hire on-boarding and new-hire paperwork Assist Director of HR with termination process for exiting employees Update payroll system when there is a staff employment update as needed Complete verifications of employment and other forms on behalf of the Director of HR Reconcile benefit invoices Maintaining our training matrix and EE requirement logs and sending staff reminders to complete various trainings when it's due Ensuring all HR Personnel document filing and files are in order, complete, and up to date Assist in workplace accident investigation as directed by the Director of HR and submitting workers' comp claims as needed Escalate employee inquiries to the Director of Human Resources as necessary Other projects or tasks as assigned by the Director of HR RequirementsBe a committed Christ follower and active member of a local Church Be a role model in attitude, speech and actions toward others Respect people in leadership and colleagues Make an effort to understand the uniqueness of Brave Church and Valley Christian Schools Love for People, Business, Strategy, Organization Interest in growing and developing as a leader particularly in HR Desire for continuous learning Highly sensitive to confidential information, refusing to use or circulate confidential information inappropriately Demonstrates problem solving abilities Ability to handle stressful situations or conversations with poise and meet everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity and optimism REQUIREMENTS: AA Degree in Business Administration or HR (Bachelor's Degree preferred) 1-3 years of experience as an administrative assistant and/or Human Resources assistant (willing to train an early career candidate desiring a long-term career in HR) Ability to effectively communicate as a mediator between leadership/staff and the Director of HR Highly organized Extreme attention to detail Able to handle multiple projects and execute to completion Advanced computer skills in Google Applications like Docs, Sheets, Meets, Etc.
MUST be able to maintain confidentiality Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must reside in the Bay Area
