Job Description
Ingram Marine Group has an opening for a Human Resources Business Partner in the Reserve , LA office, reporting to the Human Resources Director. Our environment thrives on collaboration, as this role serves as a consultant on human resources related issues, including investigations, performance management, coaching, development, organizational design and overall people strategy.
We are looking for someone who can develop strong, collaborative business relationships across the organization and serves as the main point of contact for people leaders, and associates at all levels. You will work with senior leaders and assigned client groups to deliver value-added services that are aligned with the business objectives of the company.
What you will be doing: Supporting and serving as "guardian" of the Ingram family culture and values Providing coaching and guidance to leaders and associates regarding employment issues, including, but not limited to, policy and procedure interpretation/application, performance management, corrective action, internal investigations, and separations Ensuring management decisions adhere to company policies, federal, state, and local laws, governmental rules, and regulations Conducting regular meetings with leaders and associates providing guidance to proactively monitor effectiveness of HR policy and programs, identifying issues, addressing concerns, and providing solutions, elevating when necessary Investigating, analyzing, and making recommendations regarding associate relations issues, organization design challenges, engagement, and retention Partnering with HR Director/Manager to review employee engagement data to identify trends and recommending creative solutions for areas of opportunity Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of associates, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partnering with legal department as needed/required Providing guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning Counseling and providing guidance to associates on general questions regarding company benefits and HR related programs such as wellness, leaves of absence and medical benefits, elevating when needed Facilitating discussions and training classes for people leaders and individual contributors regarding change management initiatives and requirements Partnering with Talent Management team to assist in the development and facilitation of training and development initiatives identified by leadership to support business unit needs and company goals Partnering with Talent Acquisition team to provide guidance and support regarding talent acquisition decisions, including but not limited to assisting with candidate interviews, providing support and guidance to hiring managers on selection of internal and external candidates, and informing TA team of upcoming recruitment needs Partnering with HR team to review and make recommendations on compensation and processes Participating on cross-functional teams to ensure positive organizational change Conducting new associate orientation to present HR related policies and practices Providing response to unemployment requests for data and participate in unemployment hearings Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of human resources experience required SPHR or PHR required Requires travel to other locations and marine vessels Knowledge and role modeling of Ingram Way behavior Working knowledge of maritime law and multiple HR disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, associate relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of assigned business unit Excellent organizational skills as they relate to investigations and documentation Exceptional conflict management skills and commitment to confidentiality in all aspects of HR functions Effective training and facilitation skills for large and small groups Strategic, analytical, detailed, energetic, and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Self-motivated and self-directed Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) and custom programs such as PeopleSoft, Crew Solutions, etc. Additional Information
