Engaged LearningPerforms maintenance, repair and alterations on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Organizes HVAC work by reviewing work orders. Coordinates work with other trades to complete work assignments. Compiles information and produces reports and logs. Assists Cleveland State University (CSU) Access Control or other emergency personnel during emergencies. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Completion of an accredited HVAC program or apprenticeship HVAC program.High school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent.Two (2) years of HVAC experience from a commercial contractor or an institutional complex.Valid driver's license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU's Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.Ability to use power and hand tools and lift 50 pounds. If lifting is over 50 pounds, the ability to buddy lift or use of tools to aid in lifting.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of hydronic heating systems, reading diagrams, specifications, drawings, and blueprints.Ability to work from heights and use equipment i.e., lifts, ladders, scaffolding, catwalks, and climb into small spaces to access equipment.Ability to work independently on projects that require one person.Ability to maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment and adhere to CSU standards and policies and codes.Proficient in written and verbal communication skills.Skilled in problem-solving and analytical thinking.Knowledge of maintenance systems and ability to enter and maintain data in the system.Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans.Ability to meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.Possess conflict resolution skills to address issues and opportunities for improvement.Requisition Number: PT0703442S
