Responsibilities: Lead, oversee, review, and execute structural engineering tasks for a variety of projects related to assessment and restoration design of concrete, masonry, steel, wood elements and structures. Engineering tasks include detailed design, calculations, and development of repair details and specifications.Assign project tasks and provide technical guidance to junior-level team members. Work directly with project managers to help implement project goals; delegate duties to junior-level staff; oversee and conduct quality checks on project aspects such as schedule, deliverables, and invoicing; mentor and train junior-level team members.Productively interact with client representatives and SME subcontractors.Help to enhance the visibility of SME's expertise through participation in professional organizations outside of regular employment.Exemplify safe work practices and follow the company's compliance standards.Core Competencies: Competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors.Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage workloads, and maintain accurate records.Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members.Ability to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions.Basic construction competencies including ability to interpret surveys, road maps, and topographic maps.Aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical problems in the field.Demonstrates ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety in all aspects of work.Physical Requirements: Ability to safely use and operate ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and other equipment to access buildings for data recording.Ability to learn new concepts and adapt to challenges.Ability to work overtime, including weekends as needed.Ability to work efficiently and organized both independently and with a team.Medically fit to use a respiratory protective device and other personal protective equipment.Ability to work in varied environments, including confined spaces and at heights greater than six feet.Travel locally and out-of-area; valid driver's license and passport required.Possible limited international travel.SME's Core Values: Honesty and IntegrityRespectSelfless ServiceTeamworkPractical SolutionsAt SME, we believe that taking care of our employees is the cornerstone of our success.
