The Bank Compliance Department is charged with oversight and coordination of the Compliance program for the U.S Banks (Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. and Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association). The candidate will join the department as a member of the Bank Institutional Compliance team and will provide compliance advisory support for derivative activities of the U.S Banks, primarily focused on equity derivatives.
This role will require in-office attendance 3 days/week.
This individual will provide advisory compliance support, including the following:
-Serve as Subject Matter Expert in providing institutional advice and with respect to banking rules and regulations.
-Communicate with business unit and related groups to coordinate, recommend, and execute plans to address potential issues, fulfill regulatory obligations and promote best practices
-Assist in regulatory reviews including inquiries, audits, and exams
-Provide advice and guidance with regard to compliance requirements of Regulation W
-Support the creation, maintenance, and revision of existing and new policies and procedures relating to banking rules and regulations
-Conduct appropriate Compliance monitoring
-Provide periodic updates to senior management on institutional banking compliance matters
-Represent Bank Compliance in Swap Dealer compliance matters including preparation of the Swap Dealer Annual Report
-Prepare compliance related KRIs and dashboards
-Support the development of and conduct compliance trainings for relevant employees
-Conduct compliance risk assessments on the businesses covered and contribute to the development of the Annual Compliance Plan
-Support the Bank Compliance testing team on their reviews of regulations
Qualifications:
-5-10 years of compliance and/or regulatory experience, with knowledge of the financial service industry, regulatory requirements, and experience in analyzing business risk and best practices
-Expert knowledge on derivatives, particularly equity derivatives. Familiarity with other types of derivatives such as credit, FX and interest rate derivatives
-Familiarity with banking regulations from OCC, Federal Reserve including but not limited to 12 CFR 7.1030 and Regulation W. Familiarity with OCC guidance on Risk Management of Financial Derivatives.
-Familiarity with swap dealer and securities-based swap dealer regulations of the CFTC, SEC and NFA
-Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
-Ability to remain flexible and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines
-Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
-Excellent written communication skills particularly when drafting policies and/or training materials
-Strong sense of ownership regarding work product
-Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management and/or a similar analytical- quantitative area of study
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 110000 and 190000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
