This role performs service and repair for hydraulic components.
\n Experience, Education and SkillsEducation — High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required. 2 year fluid power degree or formal training in industrial technology, mechanics or related field in which fluid power is part of the curriculum preferred. Mechanical Aptitude – Ability to use a variety of hand tools, to operate a fork lift and crane. Advanced ability to qualify hydraulic components. Advanced ability to use spare parts prints to identify components. Advanced ability to use schematics to identify components work within hydraulic system. Experience — 3+ plus years Hydraulic Experience. Must have experience in designing and building test fixtures. Must have experience in crossing units, tearing down core units, cleaning and preparing hydraulic units. Must have demonstrated ability to assemble and test subassemblies and assemble and test hydraulic cylinders, pumps and motors. Experience in measuring and verifying tolerances required. Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Must possess characteristics of a strong leader and have the ability to motivate and direct people as they work. Physical Dexterity — Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Position stands 95 to 100% of the workday Essential FunctionsEvaluate, build and test cylinders, pumps and motors.Evaluate warranty hydraulic cylinders, pumps and motors.Attend advanced training within hydraulic field.Reverse engineer hydraulic components. Create and document testing procedures.Train new and/or junior level hydraulic technicians.Provide hydraulic field service to off-site customers on an as needed basis.Design test fixtures and test set ups.Conduct intercompany training sessions.Coordinate workflow for machine shop with Production Manager.Coordinate with Production Manager on problem jobs, afterhours ESFs, and capital improvements for the hydraulic department. Maintain and ensures acceptable cleanliness levels within hydraulic test area and hydraulic work station.Ensures safety rules and safe work practices are followed throughout department.Participate in continuous improvement through training and associate development.Must be able to correctly size, design and select proper seals and sealing material.Able to read precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.Own every basic hand tool and many specialty tools to service hydraulic equipment at an advanced level.Must be able to identify component serviceability and level with a high degree of accuracy. Able to trouble shoot hydraulic systems and assist customers by phone or email.
