Pure Storage is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in onboarding Joint Design Manufacturing (JDM) and Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners for ourhyperscale line of business. In this role, you will ensure the quality of manufacturing for storage servers and Direct Flash Modules (DFM) while working closely with cross-functional teams and external manufacturers to transition new products from prototype to mass production, optimizing processes for scalability and efficiency in high-volume environments.
Additionally, you'll have some Technical Program Management (TPM) responsibilities, collaborating with storage solutions teams and external manufacturers to implement scalable, automated testing and quality solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...
New Product Introduction (NPI):Collaborate with Engineering teams to release new storage products into production, ensuring test readiness and seamless handoff to manufacturing. Oversee the NPI process for server products, ensuring successful integration and production readiness
Onboarding Manufacturing Partners. Onboarding a new JDM partner to build storage servers, and contract manufacturer(s) to build our direct flash modules (DFMs)
Validation of New Products: Lead the validation process for new server products, coordinating tests and ensuring compliance with quality and production standards.
Problem Identification and Solving: Focus on identifying and resolving complex production issues related to server hardware, implementing effective solutions.
Server Product Knowledge: Apply extensive knowledge of server hardware to guide production processes and address specific product challenges.
Manufacturing Test Plans:Review and refine manufacturing test plans and test requirement documentation to ensure comprehensive test coverage for new products being introduced to market.
KPIs, Failure Metrics and Analysis:Establish supplier quality standards and KPIs such as component DPPM levels. Generate and publish reports (monthly/quarterly) on KPI metrics. Define and analyze key metrics related to failures observed during manufacturing tests, driving RCCAs, continuous improvement in product quality and process efficiency. Provide inputs to supplier quarterly scorecard and QBR feedback
Drive processes for volume production of storage servers including manufacturing execution, nonconforming product management, traceability tracking, and process control
Track schedule, work-in-progress levels, and defect rates of owned products
Identify trends and opportunities for optimizing product output, quality enhancements, and cost of manufacturability
Drive corrective actions and process improvements on owned processes and products
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM.....
Candidates must have experience in qualifying JDMs, ODMs or CMs, for hyperscale server deployments.
Proven NPI Expertise:Extensive experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), successfully bringing cutting-edge products to market, preferred experience in flash storage products.
Hardware Bring-up:Hands-on experience with the bring-up and debugging of cloud servers, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production.
Strong Technical Background:In-depth understanding of production and test processes for storage servers, ensuring reliability and quality in high-volume manufacturing environments.
Educational Background:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Adaptability in Fast-Paced Environments: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a rapid-paced, collaborative, and dynamic office environment.
Willingness to Travel:Availability to travel 15% to 20% to global manufacturing sites, especially during new product launches, to oversee and ensure successful implementation.
You will be based in Santa Clara, CA. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.

The annual base salary range is: $187,000.00 - $281,000.00
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
