Job Description
Location: Burwood Group Lombard, IL office
Job Type: W2 Contractor
Hours: Monday – Friday anticipated ~30 hours per week
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented I.T. Product Operations Specialist to manage the receiving, inventorying, and organizing of product shipments. This role will collaborate with various internal teams such as Sales Operations, PMO, Sales, Managed Services, and Product Ops to ensure the smooth and timely handling of IT hardware, including laptops, servers, and other equipment.
Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments, ensuring all items are accounted for and documented accurately.
Perform inventory audits, verifying shipment completeness against order status reports and investigating any discrepancies.
Collaborate with internal teams (Sales Ops, PMO, Managed Services) to communicate the status of gear, assist with warehousing requests, and provide timely updates.
Ensure that warehousing requests are accommodated within space limitations, assessing storage requirements and potential costs to be built into client proposals.
Organize shipments in designated warehouse areas, ensuring correct labeling and easy identification for internal team members accessing the gear.
Support product staging and connectivity needs, coordinating with Burwood Support for any special power or internet requirements.
Work closely with the Project Team and Managed Services to assign resources for receiving shipments when necessary, ensuring no delivery goes unattended.
Assist with repackaging, palletizing, and shipping of products, working with Customer Service and external vendors to coordinate reshipments to client sites.
Manage warehouse cleanliness, ensuring all staging areas are organized and excess packaging is removed.
Log all shipments in the Warehouse Tracker system, ensuring accurate tracking of all products from receipt through to reshipment.
Perform damage inspections upon delivery and assist with filing freight damage claims when necessary.
Qualifications
Who You Are
Previous experience in a technical hardware or network-related role, such as inventory management, troubleshooting, or system maintenance, or coursework/projects demonstrating a strong foundation in technical problem-solving and network fundamentals.
Familiarity with IT hardware and general knowledge of product staging and connectivity.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and equipment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to adapt quickly to changes in shipment timelines and project requirements.
Ability to work on-site M-F, with flexibility as needed for project requirements.
