Role: IBM MQ admin Location : Chicago, IL (Onsite) Experience : 3years Fulltime Permanent Job Summary: We are seeking an IBM MQ Administrator to join our team and be responsible for managing and maintaining our IBM MQ infrastructure.
The IBM MQ Administrator will work closely with the development team to ensure the availability and reliability of our messaging infrastructure to support our applications and services.
Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ servers and associated infrastructure, including IBM MQ Appliances.
Monitor the performance of the IBM MQ servers and associated infrastructure, troubleshoot any issues, and take corrective action to resolve problems.
Ensure the availability and reliability of IBM MQ servers and associated infrastructure, including implementation of High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans for IBM MQ servers.
Collaborate with the development team to integrate IBM MQ into our applications and services.
Manage access controls, security configurations, and authentication protocols for IBM MQ servers.
Configure and manage IBM MQ objects, including queues, topics, and channels.
Implement and maintain IBM MQ clustering and workload balancing.
Work with other teams to ensure the integration of IBM MQ with other data stores and messaging systems.
Automate deployment and management of IBM MQ servers using configuration management tools.
Document IBM MQ infrastructure configurations and procedures.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an IBM MQ Administrator.
Experience with IBM MQ servers and associated tools, including IBM MQ Explorer and IBM MQ Console.
Knowledge of IBM MQ cluster management, monitoring, and performance tuning.
Understanding of IBM MQ security, including encryption and authentication protocols.
Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Java.
Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Kubernetes, is a plus.
Experience with IBM MQ Appliances and High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
