Position Summary Candidate will be responsible for quoting and executing aftermarket material handling solutions including Magazine (Pallet) Conveyor, Rack, Shuttle Transportation Vehicles, Automated Guided Vehicles, Storage Retrieval Machines, and Automated End-of-Arm Tool Solutions.
This systems engineering role requires integrating Daifuku manufactured and third-party hardware to meet or exceed customer expectations.
The candidate will work in a dynamic environment requiring collaboration across controls, software engineering and project management teams.
The role includes performing engineering and estimating duties for various industry subsystems, managing system retrofits, upgrades, and aftermarket sales activities
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
1) Design/Enhance Systems:
a.
Refine scope of work received from customer or sales equipment application standards to meet customer requirements.
b.
Design and enhance conveyor systems including Automated Storage and Retrieval, and other Automated or Simi-Automated systems.
2) Product Design Review:
a.
Ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements.
3) Technical Coordination:
a.
Coordinate activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
4) Drawing Creation:
a.
Create approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
5) Quote and Purchase Orders:
a.
Obtain material and product quotes from vendors and works with purchasing teams to issue purchase orders.
6) Project Monitoring:
a.
Monitor project schedules, engineering time, and material costs.
b.
Able to prioritize and manage multiple assigned projects in Execution Phases and Quote Phases.
7) Team Collaboration:
a.
Work with other project team disciplines to ensure the engineered solution fits within system constraints.
b.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with international teams.
c.
Experience in navigating and respecting cultural differences in a professional setting.
8) Customer Interface:
a.
Travel up to 20% for measuring buildings, inventorying equipment, commissioning systems, and interfacing with customers.
9) Continuous Improvement:
a.
Participate in continuous improvement projects.
10) Proposal Development:
a.
Assist in quoting and proposal development with the Direct Amazon Account Manager
b.
This includes working with Amazon for scope development driving pricing and proposals for all aftermarket opportunities.
11) Solutions Development:
a.
Estimates project costs, including working with other Wynright groups
b.
Support sales by visiting job sites for customer meetings and surveys.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience Minimum of 4 years of material handling related experience Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD Proficiency in Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Teams).
Project Management: Ability to handle intermediate-sized project assignments with minimal supervision.
Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the material handling business and ability to assist across teams and divisions.
Communication Skills: Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Japanese is highly desirable.
Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers.
Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
Team Orientation: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
