The Immigration Attorney conducts intake interviews, identifies issues, performs research, and recommends legal courses of action to regional refugee, asylee, immigrant, nonimmigrant, and undocumented populations and will represent clients before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Department of State (DOS), and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) on various matters.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS: Conducts intake interviews, identifies issues, performs research, and recommends legal courses of action to regional refugee, asylee, immigrant, nonimmigrant, and undocumented populations.She/he will represent clients before the DHS United States Citizenship & Immigration Services regarding such matters as asylum, adjustment of status, naturalization, petitions for relatives/special immigrants, temporary protected status, family unity, and employment authorization; before the DOS National Visa Center and various U.S. Consulates and Embassies regarding such matters as applications for immigrant visa; and before the DOJ Executive Office for Immigration Review regarding such matters as removal defense (asylum, cancellation of removal, etc.) and appeals to the DOJ Board of Immigration Appeals.She/he will provide written advocacy for clients in their foreign dealings with DHS and DOS missions overseas.Maintain case notes and organized client files on a regular, timely basis.Work collaboratively with co-workers on cases as necessary.Other duties as assigned.Education Requirements (Any)Jurisprudence Degree Certification Requirements (Any)KY Bar
