Indiana University's Cancer Center's Summer Research Program could be just what you need! This 8-week summer research program gives underrepresented students across the United States the ability to gain firsthand experience in various medical fields through workshops, research, and more! Students are paired with a research mentor who will teach them about research methodology and assist them throughout the course of the program. At the end of this summer research program, students will have gained both poster and oral presentation skills.
This summer research program runs from early June to late July, and participants will need to be able to commit to the full 40 hours each week at Indiana University. For participants who don't live near the university, this summer research program provides housing for students from Jackson State University and assists in finding housing for others. Additionally, participants receive a stipend to help cover costs associated with attending.
This is one of several cancer research programs offered through Indiana University; there's also the Future Scientists Program for local Indianapolis high school juniors and the Diversity in Cancer Research Program, which is a 10-week summer program for second-year undergraduate students from underrepresented communities.
