Industrial Designer

Our South Shore CPG client is looking for an Industrial Designer with 5+ years' experience that will consistently lead product innovation for both new and existing items.
You will work with the product development team led by category and product line managers as well as cross functionally across multiple departments located here in MA as well as in the international offices.
Requirements Determine materials, construction, mechanisms, shape, color, surface finish, manufacturing processes, and packaging in cooperation with other business functions involved in the development of new products.
Concept development in the form of ideation sketching, CAD, in conjunction with other team members to combine function and aesthetics into market leading products.Conduct User research, analyzing user data, and researching design and market trends.Develop print & graphic executions for products.Render presentation level drawings for review and critique.
Create sketches and specifications to translate ideas into models and working prototypes.Create and maintain design documentation such as assembly drawings, product and material specifications, bill of materials, etc.
to assure quality in product designs.
Conduct cost analysis on new product designs.Evaluate designs relative to applicable safety standards.
Work with the international team to improve cost and ease of manufacturing throughout development and after product launch.Assist in other business needs including prototype testing and facilitating marketing communication with other team members.Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in industrial design or similar
• Solid understanding of product engineering.
• Strong Brand and Marketing understanding and experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite software products required.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling programs such as Rhino and Keyshot.
• Mechanical knowledge in common manufacturing techniques including cut & sew, injection, compression, rotation and roto molding, composites fabrication, textiles and foam.
• Familiarity with basic model shop tools and procedures.
• Previous experience working with overseas vendors a plus
• Previous experience working with the toy industry a plus
