Position Summary
The Engineer I will complete basic projects assigned by more experienced engineers and managers.
Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role while being closely managed.
Assures the authenticity, efficacy and viability of the manufacturing process.Is accountable to provide operating personnel with safe, timely, effective methods to produce a quality product.Supports the development of all manufacturing costs, including direct labor and raw material, and the preparation and publication of meaningful, accurate and current data in these areas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•References existing work to complete similar projects.
Improves on previous work.
•Works under supervision of more experienced engineers.
Regular assignments are completed with minimum supervision.
•Delivers communications tailored to the needs of the receiver (managers, peers, customers) with appropriate frequency to maximize its utility and promote cross-functional collaboration.
•Performs time and motion studies, work sampling/thru-put constraint analysis.
Verifies standards assumptions.Spends time in area to help analyze manufacturing operations to reduce commodity falloff and downtime, enlisting manufacturing, engineering and maintenance resources to improve yields and run time.
Ensures methods comply with cGMPs.
•Scopes, writes and routes for approval, Requests for Capital Expenditures.
•Helps establish labor and material manufacturing performance standards for daily operational activities and develops operating projections for profit plans and updates.
•Supports plant cost improvement activities to include the identification,
•Development of financial justification, Capital Expenditure preparation and implementation of savings ideas.
•Evaluates and implements improvements to operating systems throughout the Plant.
•Adheres to cGMP guidelines, SOPs and plant rules/policies.
•Work on special projects as they arise.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
•Has engineering foundation.
•Expected to spend majority of time learning and best practices.
•Has a basic understanding engineering discipline.
•Willingness to learn/understand big picture.
•Ability to complete projects with minimum supervision.
•Requires the ability to provide input and recommendations that impact the completion of project goals.
Education and Experience
•Must be at least 18 years of age
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university: Industrial Engineering, Industrial Systems or Engineering preferred.
•0-2 years' experience.
•Experience performing time and motion studies and work sampling/thru-put constraint analysis preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
•Work in an office environment and manufacturing areas.
•This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
•Observations performed in a clean room environment
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
•Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
