We are currently seeking an Industrial Engineer who has the drive and motivation to grow in an expanding business.
Primary Purpose: The Industrial Engineer (IE) drives Continuous Improvement and optimization of all processes in the production area and oversee daily operations of production and manufacturing to ensure policies and procedures are followed. The IE develops production layouts for the company's warehouse to increase productivity and quality standards. Main duties include analyzing current production schedules and processes to find potential improvements, designing the layouts of the facilities and estimating production costs. The key to being successful in this position will be to develop robust and optimal processes that will maximize safety, quality and productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities: Commit to plant safety procedures. Continuously evaluate manufacturing practices and identify areas of improvement (CI) to increase production capacity and flexibility while minimizing/eliminating unnecessary costs. Analyze production schedules and coordinate services to maximize productivity. Collaborate with other engineers to resolve issues and help drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to reduce defects. Analyze and evaluate production associate tasks and responsibilities; analyze data to reduce waste / overtime (7 Wastes). Devise and implement procedures or tools to improve productivity and the efficiency of each production process while maintaining/improving quality standards. Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets. Understand and help maintenance and outside services troubleshoot production equipment (i.e. automated conveyor systems, HMI's, and drive systems). Understanding / knowledge of OSHA regulations and required safeguards. Leverage resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results. Qualifications: Required: 1-3 years working experience as an Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer or Mechanical Engineer. Experience with Lean Methodologies and site/area implementation. Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise. Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and manufacturing processes. Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills. Ability to create accountability and to lead by example. Preferred: Experience in SCADA system operation (Ignition or similar). Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources). Previous experience in a high-volume Consumer or Industrial assembly facility and/or Power Tools industry is a plus. Experience working in a multi-channel retail business/industry. Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar discipline preferred, but we will consider any combination of education and relevant experience.
