'Job SummaryThe Industrial Engineer will be responsible for standardizing operations in MAC facilities as well as 3PL operated facilities.
This includes material handling/operations guidelines, storage/stacking SOP, customer routing guide management, as well as inventory/returns process.
IE will be involved in facility design, system integration (WMS, WCS, YMS, TMS), standardizing operation processes, process innovation, and leading continuous improvement projects effectively utilizing lean, six sigma, and engineering methodologies.
Essential Job ResponsibilitiesReview daily order status, follow through routing/appointment/carrier pick ups, report/solve any issues with inventory/EDI/capacity issues on routing/rescheduling delays.Perform capacity planning based on forecast (space, labor, equipment) and align with 3PL capacity/readiness.Work with inbound/transportation team to understand variability/changes to inbound/outbound volume and adjust/secure inbound/outbound capacity/commitments from carriers as needed.Develop and monitor 3PL performance through KPI and provide improvement plan with clear action items.Supervise order status with the express requirement to maintain a best-in-class order fulfillment rate as it relates to OTRQQ (on-time right quantity & quality)Work closely with inbound and transportation team to understand overall operations status, priority, and opportunities to enhance overall operations capabilities and to continuously strive for improvements/cost savings.Support Inbound/Transportation Team as required to streamline processes and enhance system/report/visibility.Work cross functionally with overall logistics and supply chain members for items such as inventory control, warehouse SOPs, documentation, reporting and projects, including proactive follow-up communications and meeting creations as required.Develop communications and work cross functionally with Sales, Product Marketing and other Midea teams regarding tasks or projects relating to inventory, item setup and SKU details, order shipment documentation such as labels, palletization and container, LTL & FTL loading quantities.Coordinate with the project manager and local staff for rework and other project.Partner with Inventory team on cycle/physical counts and inventory discrepancies.Develop and manage distribution SOPs (unloading, put way, picking, loading, stack height, classification, return) along with material handling and routing/labeling requirement by customer.Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and any improvements around warehouse related systems (WMS, YMS, TMS).Develop labor/equipment plans, internal and 3PL, and assign tasks appropriately as they relate to specific project plans, scope and requirements.Responsible for Item Master maintenance including Ti X Hi, Stack Height, Weights & Dimensions.Operational Efficiency: Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and inventory management to minimize bottlenecks and maximize throughput.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and effective resource utilization.Process Analysis and Improvement: Conduct thorough analysis of existing warehouse processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.Technology Integration: Identify and evaluate technological solutions, such as warehouse management systems (WMS) and automated equipment, to optimize warehouse operations.
Collaborate with IT teams to implement and integrate these solutions effectively.Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and industry best practices.Other duties assigned Required QualificationsHigh level of attention to detail, strategic thinking, ability to solve complex problems, and provide strategic analysis that guides decision making.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree or higher (Preferably Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, or Management).Extensive knowledge of Logistics & Distribution.7+ years of Logistics/ Distribution experience.High level of understanding of WMS, YMS, TMSStrong analytical skills, high level skills in MS Excel.Strong collaborative problem-solver, effective communicator, strong presentational skills.Ability to forecast, analyze and prepare statistical data and metrics.Ability to handle/mine data from multiple sources to create vital reports and databases.Must demonstrate expertise on AutoCAD, Tablo, SQL, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access.Organized, responsible, ability to work independently and as a part of a team.Depending on business needs, must visit warehouses.Ability to travel 25%•Maybe in warehouse environment at times•May need to lift 50 or less pounds•May sit for long amounts of timeSalary: $65k-$90k, 10% bonus.401k and Medical, Dental, VisionMidea America Corp. is an equal opportunity employer.
