Infant- Early Learning Teacher

YMCA OF SUPERIOR CALIFORNIA Job Title: Infant Teacher POSITION SUMMARY: Provides direction to program and staff and implements program curriculum in the classroom.  Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focus on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the safe arrangement, appearance, decor, and learning environment of the classroom.Assist with planning, supervising, and implementing classroom activities in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the YMCA.Submit written curriculum as required by Site Director.Model appropriate behavior.Maintain communication with parents/guardian including informal meetings as needed.Supervise children and be responsible for their safety at all times.Change diapers and complete paperwork.Knowledge of all Safety and Emergency procedures.All other duties as assigned by your supervisorYMCA COMPETENCIES (Leader): Values-Accepts and demonstrates the Y's values.Inclusion-Seeks first to understand the other person's point of view and remains calm in challenging situations.Self-Development-Pursues self-development that enhances job performance.Relationships-builds rapport and relates well to others.QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 12 Early Education Unites including the infant class. At least 18 years of age (The age minimum may be higher depending on state law).CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred. Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activitiesPrevious experience with diverse populationsPHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.This position requires the ability to lift up to 40 poundsSalary: $18-$19 hourly
