DescriptionCentral Ohio Primary Care (COPC) is the largest independent Primary Care physician organization in the US.
We are looking for a board-certified Infectious Disease physician for one of our established specialty practices in Westerville.
The office is open 4.5 days a week.
As an Infectious Disease specialist, you will diagnose, treat, and help prevent the spread of infections caused by pathogens like viruses or bacteria.
You should possess extensive knowledge of how and why viruses, parasites, bacteria, and fungi affect the body.
The role requires being organized, professional, and dedicated to helping patients through difficult times with their diseases.
Responsibilities include: Working with the patient's PCP to manage the patient's condition by conducting patient interviews, evaluations, ordering tests, reviewing results, and recommending treatment.Diagnosing illnesses: Reviewing patient medical records, X-rays, lab reports, and performing physical exams.
You may order blood tests, urine tests, stool samples, throat swabs, tissue biopsies, and imaging scans.Communication: Communicate test results, condition, therapy options, goals, possible side effects, and treatment length to patients, along with lifestyle recommendations to improve recovery.Managing treatment plans for patients with conditions like HIV, leukocytosis, Hepatitis, pneumonia, bone infections, Lyme disease, meningococcal disease, and tuberculosis.Rounding at two hospital sites and an Inpatient Rehab, providing coverage for the wound care clinic, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
