Information Security Engineer

Location : Des Moines , IA - We need only US Citizen and Green Card Contract to Hire Role Title - Information Security Engineer 100% REMOTE Job Summary: The Information Security Engineer plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization's computer systems and networks against cyber threats, unauthorized access, and data breaches. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive information by conducting comprehensive risk assessments and implementing security measures. Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor networks and systems to detect and respond to potential threats, vulnerabilities, and security breaches. Investigate security incidents, assess the extent of damage, and document findings. Install and configure security software, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), and extended detection and response systems (XDR). Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend security enhancements. Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to develop solutions to meet the current needs of the company or to improve the security posture. Regularly test systems for vulnerabilities, simulate cyber-attacks, and address weaknesses proactively. Advise management on security advancements and provide guidance on protecting systems. Work with IT teams to ensure secure network architecture, software development, patch management, and compliance control testing. Assist colleagues in understanding security procedures and help with software installations. All other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: 1. Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or related experience. 2. 2-3 years of relevant experience, including experience with the Microsoft suite of tools; Intune, Defender for Endpoint, and Sentinel. 3. 1-3 years of penetration testing experience 4. Knowledge of network protocols, security tools, risk assessment methodologies, firewalls, IDS, encryption, and security software. 5. Analytical mindset and attention to detail. 6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically. 7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Good listener that can understand the needs of the business and provide recommendations.
