The IT Generalist Administrator works with considerable latitude and independence to provide oversight and support functions in all areas of information technology for the Bedford-Somerset Developmental & Behavioral Health Services agency.

Apply today to start a new career in information technology DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position provides oversight and supervision of the Agency's Management Information Systems (MIS) Technology Department.
Responsibilities include applications and business process development in a complex system; networking; database administration and information technology support; planning and directing software development; and support of voice communication for telephones, cellular telephones, and e-mails.
Directs the installation and support of the in-house programmed software along with state-issued software and web-based and/or server-based applications.
Direct and coordinate MIS project development and system enhancement efforts.
Provide direction to IT Service Provider technicians as needed.
Plan and direct the implementation of organizational training schedules and curriculum to agency users.
Work cooperatively with the agency's Executive Administrative Team in providing recommendations and justifications for changes in policies and procedures, budget development, monitoring and requests.
Facilitates committee to determine problems and objectives with existing processes and their use of existing systems and equipment and identifies strategies to problem solve and/or enhance the system.
Directs time studies, studies data, conducts research, and reports findings.
Evaluate all options to determine what will best meet the users and agency's needs, along with what is most cost effective.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of the MIS department policy and procedures.
Coordinates, assists, and provides guidance to the agency's software with installation of new users.
Ensures system is secure and up to industry standards including meeting all HIPAA security requirements.
Oversee data security, back-up of data, and recovery of data.
Oversee the assignment and maintenance of user ID's.
Monitor IT equipment inventory and make recommendations for hardware and software purchases.
Provides day-to-day supervision of IT Staff.
Attends trainings, conferences, and meetings as required.
Keeps abreast of new information technology services, products, and information technology developments.
Reviews technical manuals and other literature.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
This position has a shared responsibility for assisting the Agency's executive team with overseeing and monitoring the Agency's operations 24/7.
This position may be required to work remotely during scheduled times off, off hours and/or weekends, or have the need for flexibility to work remotely during regular business hours, and therefore this position is considered an ongoing hybrid position for business necessity.
Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
