Summary

A member of the credit union's management team, the IT Manager is responsible for the continued

analysis and implementation of the credit union's technology infrastructure.
This includes managing

current network, servers, hubs, switches and all other hardware and software utilized in the organization.


Makes recommendations for changes and/or upgrades to new products that meet the needs of the credit

union.
Also manages the IT staff.


Employee's responsibilities regarding BSA - OFAC - AML - CTR laws, rules, and regulations:
•Attain and maintain acceptable level of knowledge of laws, rules and regulations including all updates and changes.

•Complete and accurately submit all necessary forms required by the laws, rules and regulations.

•Complete all steps required in laws, rules, and regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Works under the direct supervision of the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Implement and supervise budget for the IT department that is consistent with the strategic plan and budget of the credit union.
Recommends capital expenditures and reviews and compares actual results to planned budgetary performance.
Participates in the credit union's short- and long-term strategic planning session as it relates to IT.
Analyzes and recommends changes in operations to enhance IT efficiency and effectiveness.
Recommends changes to policies and procedures of the IT area as necessary.
Ensures that the IT area is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set by the NCUA and state regulators.
Maintain compliance with the internal controls through accuracy in IT record keeping.
Develop and maintain the strategy and future direction of LAN and WAN technologies and protocols, telecommunications, hardware and software.
Keep abreast of new technologies and their impact and cost to the credit union.
Ensure system performance.
Monitor and compare prices with vendors to ensure best cost and reliable service of computer equipment and supplies.
Develop plans of implementation of new projects, coordinating process with COO.
Provide well-defined plans including procedures, documentation, deadlines and accountability.
Coordinate the loading of new software.
Develop and implement pre-installation testing procedures to ensure integrity and quality of all software deployed.
Coach and direct staff to endure compliance with the department goals, objectives of the credit union, external regulations and budgetary requirements.
Develop and maintain credit union's network diagram.
Direct the department's personnel administration activities including job assignment, training, performance evaluation and compensation review.
Maintain awareness of changing trends in technology and regulation in the credit union industry that may affect the department and makes changes as necessary.
Ensure that network staff is providing colleagues with fast, accurate and secure methods of accessing information in order that members can be served in a quick and efficient manner.
Also assist credit union staff in using the computer system.
Ensure that staff support is provided in a professional and courteous manner.
Maintain good communication with all departments to obtain information that can be used to help them be more efficient.
Also use this information to be pro-active in the support approach.
Ensure that all daily, monthly, quarterly and year end jobs are completed according to the established procedures.
Ensure that all year end reports are sent to members and necessary federal agencies.
Run other reports as necessary.
Hold periodic staff meetings to answer questions and inform staff of computer and IT related updates.
Keep the COO informed of area activities and notify the COO of operational issues that cannot be corrected by routine procedures.
Ensure that the credit union's professional reputation is maintained throughout all business transactions with members.
Ensure that all work areas are clean, secure and well maintained.
All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities - Supervises the IT staff

Qualifications

Must have knowledge of credit union's data processing systems and computer operations.
Good

understanding of credit union's operations and needs.
Thorough understanding of programming and

information systems and have good knowledge of business software applications.


Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
Or a minimum of 5

years of related work experience in the field.


Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and adequately convey detailed, important or confidential instructions or ideas.


Ability to read periodicals, technical journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, encyclopedias, and

critiques.
Ability to prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and reports using prescribed format

and conforming to all rules and punctuation, grammar and style.
Ability to conduct training,

communicate at panel discussions and make professional presentations.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,

percentages, area, circumference, and volume.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw

conclusions.
Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.


Ability to deal with difficult concepts and complex variables.


Physical Demands

Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Able to use fingers to

make small movement such as typing or picking up objects.
Ability to move frequently and regularly and

able to use the wrist, hands and/or fingers.
Visual acuity is necessary to prepare or inspect documents,

reports or products.
Able to lift to 75 lbs.
occasionally.


Work Environment

Typically, on call 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Upgrades of hardware and software often require to be

accomplished over weekends and during early morning hours.
Must respond at any hour to resolve

problems.


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
