About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Information technology Specialist (System Administrator) (GS-2210-11) to work at the Air Force Material Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), at the 704 Test Group, 586 Flight Test Squadron, at Holloman Air Force Base, in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
In this position, the incumbent will serve as a Systems Administrator, planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems in a Secure Facility. They will plan, coordinate, and implement all system requirements, ensure the effective function and performance of systems, and ensure effective surveillance of system components and their operation. They will plan, develop, and implement effective IT enhancements that will improve 586 FLTS and 704 TG operations.

Location: Alamogordo, NM (Holloman Air Force Base)
Typical 2024 salary range: $72,353 - $94,317 per year (includes locality)
Telework Information: Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

- Experience with and or knowledge of Acromatics telemetry equipment, Telemetry systems, Vista software, and IADS software.
- Experience with and or knowledge of test, flight test, COMSEC, electronics, radio frequency equipment, and secure facilities.
- Experience with Cyber-vulnerability mitigation, Cybersecurity compliance, Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework.
Major Duties:
Administers the Local Area Network
- Conducts problem analysis to identify trends, ineffective practices or procedures, and equipment shortcomings.
- Plans for current and future technology integration and works issues for compatibility and standardization based on current and projected customer needs.
- Ensures the rigorous application of information security and assurance policies in the delivery of network services.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance TS/SCI
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- A professional degree at the bachelor's level from an accredited institution in Cybersecurity/IT or a closely related field preferred but not required.
