Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Infrastructure Engineer Senior Lead position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
As the lead, the person will engineer, design, and install the Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications cabling and related cabling infrastructure within the DoD.
Skills / Experience Required Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)7+ years of hands-on professional experience as Senior Infrastructure Engineer & Infrastructure Lead for program/project of similar size and scope5+ years of experience as Senior Infrastructure Engineer & Infrastructure Lead supporting a DOD program of similar size and scopeInfrastructure Engineering will support the following policies and technologies:Experience designing and implementing ISP and/or OSP cabling and cabling infrastructureAbility to develop and interpret engineering packagesAbility to produce materials listExperience certifying fiber and copper systemsExperience working in data centers and server farmsExperience working in outside cable plant environmentsExperience supporting Intelligence Community Directive - ICD 705 - Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) requirementsExperience in supporting/designing multi-level security solutionsExperience with strategic planningDemonstrate a strong understanding of ANSI, TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEEE as they apply to the installation of OSI Layer 1 infrastructureFamiliar with and ability to apply the National Electrical Code (NEC)Familiar with and ability to apply the National Electrical Safety Code (NESCEducation / Certifications Masters level degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or IT related field andPossess IAT/IAM Level II or greaterActive BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Design (RCDD)CCNA+Security or CySA+ or GICSP or GSEC or Security+CE pr CND or SSCP certificationBenefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insuranceFlexible Spending Accounts401(k)PTOPaid Paternal leaveTuition reimbursementPaid federal holidaysSecurity Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
