Role PurposeLevelTen's Innovation team identifies, aggregates, and evaluates new business opportunities and incubates new products and services around a curated subset of those opportunities. Our remit includes reaching new customer segments, expanding geographic coverage, and developing novel transaction infrastructure to support emerging decarbonization technologies. The Innovation Manager will take a lead role in tracking energy-related markets, and evaluating and prioritizing new business opportunities. They may also be tasked with serving as a temporary business line lead for current or future innovation initiatives. Over time, their focus will evolve as business needs change.Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn partnership with Director of Innovation, manage LevelTen's process for researching and assessing new business opportunitiesConduct qualitative research and build quantitative models to support prioritization decisions, new business launches, and evaluation of external partnership opportunitiesAct as project manager for major Innovation initiatives as needed, coordinating a cross-functional team to deliver against revenue and growth targetsMonitor developments in renewable energy and decarbonization to identify market trends and track competitor activity Engage in business development activities (e.g., speaking at conferences, collaboration with marketing to promote thought leadership, etc.) to promote Innovation initiatives to external stakeholdersCollaborate with LevelTen's Product organization to proactively shape software solutions for Innovation products; leverage knowledge of existing platform capabilities to identify opportunities where existing functionality might be repurposed to advance a pilot initiativeSupport investor conversations as neededQualifications:5+ years of professional energy experience, including experience in renewable energyPrior professional experience evaluating opportunities in competitive wholesale power markets and vertically integrated marketsPrior experience with some combination of emerging or precommercial decarbonization technologies, tax equity, tax credit, and/or project finance preferredRobust professional energy network that can be leveraged to evaluate new opportunities and technologies Experience driving prioritization and go/no-go decisions among senior or executive-level stakeholdersDemonstrated aptitude for structured quantitative and qualitative analysisComfort operating within ambiguous and fast-changing work environmentsExperience leading internal teams to execute on cross-functional projects with minimal dedicated resources, given the experimental nature/pilot structure of the Innovation team's activitiesComfort interfacing with external partners and clientsDemonstrated ability to learn and communicate technical conceptsWest Coast or Pacific Time availability preferred; occasional travel required (1-3x/quarter) if not based in SeattleAdditional DetailsThe estimated compensation for this position is $145,000 - $163,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
