Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Pediatric Registered Nurse to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional pediatric nursing care and managing patient needs in accordance with the outlined competency standards and technical directives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical expertise, uphold confidentiality, and maintain compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Nursing Duties: Patient Care & Nursing Duties -Provide comprehensive nursing care and manage pediatric patient needs as per the Position Description (PD) and directives from the NNMC Nursing Supervisor.
-Address patient and family needs while ensuring compliance with technical directions and hospital standards.
Competency Standards and Compliance -Adhere to written competency standards, including:
Confidentiality/HIPAA/Patient Rights: Ensure patient privacy and uphold legal and ethical responsibilities.
EMTALA Compliance: Conduct evaluations as per EMTALA standards.
Age-Specific Competencies: Provide care tailored to age-appropriate needs.
Medication Administration: Demonstrate and verify medication administration skills.
Intravenous Therapy & Venipuncture: Perform IV and venipuncture procedures with verified competency.
Pain Management: Evaluate and address patient pain effectively.
Execute nursing duties including, but not limited to: -Charting and documentation
-Verbal and telephone orders management
-Compliance with nursing standards and emergency codes
Qualifications and Requirements: Experience: -Minimum of 36 months of nursing experience, with at least 24 months in pediatric nursing or a related specialty.
Licensure: -Possess a current, valid, and unrestricted nursing license in a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
Certifications: Mandatory: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Specialized (as applicable): -Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
-Newborn Life Support (NLS)
-Advanced Trauma Care Nurse (ATCN) or Trauma Nurse Critical Care (TNCC)
-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
