Position Summary: The Inside Sales Representative plays a crucial role in driving growth by strategically expanding key accounts and securing new business within the assigned territory.
This position emphasises proactive communication, diligent follow-up on quotations, and nurturing customer relationships across various sectors, including industrial, academic, government, and biotech organisations.
The representative will effectively communicate the company's value propositions and build strong business relationships at multiple organisational levels while identifying new opportunities and successfully closing sales.
Key Responsibilities: Meet annual sales targets by understanding and implementing the company's systems, contracting, and pricing strategies.Build and maintain relationships with key accounts through proactive outreach via phone, email, and other communication methods; work closely with end-users and buyers to secure sales.Develop effective relationships across multiple customer departments (e.g., Purchasing, Engineering, Maintenance, Laboratory, and Quality) to understand and fulfil their needs.Identify hidden customer opportunities and provide tailored solutions.Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., marketing, applications, customer service, and credit) to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen key account relationships.Manage sales support tasks for key accounts, including order entry and quotation management.Reactivate dormant accounts by identifying potential sales opportunities.Understand account management processes and develop strategies to drive profitable sales growth; present plans during business review meetings.Research customer markets (e.g., biotech, clinical) to develop new business opportunities.Attend product/vendor meetings and training sessions to stay informed about new offerings and systems.Utilise catalogues, online databases, and other resources to cross-reference products and fulfil customer requirements; suggest alternatives when necessary.Assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions through research on products, pricing, and availability.Maintain accurate records and files to ensure effective management of customer relationships.Perform additional duties as assigned. Education: A bachelor's degree in a science-related field from an accredited institution is strongly preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in Inside/Field Sales or Technical Product roles within relevant product categories is strongly preferred. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications is required; strong database experience is a plus.Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and conduct professional conversations with internal and external stakeholders.Results-oriented and self-motivated; proactive in achieving targets and goals.Excellent technical and analytical skills; ability to learn product lines and analyse data for reporting purposes.Customer-focused mentality with a commitment to exceeding expectations.Strong organisational, planning, and multi-tasking abilities; capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment.Strong selling and negotiation skills; capable of independently managing customer relationships and executing key sales strategies.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and perform effectively under pressure and time constraints.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey information clearly at all organisational levels.Strong work ethic with the ability to excel in a rapidly changing and growing organisation.Willingness to travel for training and team meetings, up to 10%.
