Inside Sales Representative (Southern California)United Pipe & Steel, a member of the Reliance Inc. family of companies, is a leading master distributor of standard pipe products in the United States, serving wholesale distributors only from our fleet of flatbed trucks. We are looking for an energetic Sales Representative reporting to our Rialto location.
Job Summary The Sales Representative will build a strong consultative relationship with current wholesale distributors. They are guided by engaged sales managers who train and set up their team members for success. They professionally manage their sales territory, focusing on customer interaction and presenting new products and strategies to maximize sales growth.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record in sales and customer service, with experience in wholesale distribution of products and services related to plumbing and heating, PVF, HVAC, waterworks, fire protection, pool, lumber, steel service centers, electrical, or other market segments.
Job Responsibilities Provide ongoing service to existing customers and develop new business in an assigned territory.Learn and demonstrate our value proposition to customers.Follow up on all opportunities with timely correspondence.Utilize problem-solving skills to provide solutions and recommendations that will increase profitability and efficiency.Research and understand customer needs and process orders quickly for customer satisfaction.Use sales management tools to maximize sales effectiveness by daily reporting, and tracking current sales and leads.Analyze existing and potential volumes of dealers.Achieve annual sales targets and prepare and submit sales reports.Demonstrate initiative in your professional development such as keeping abreast of industry changes and company literature, price changes, etc.Willing to travel within an assigned geographic territory, including events such as conferences, trade shows, and national and regional sales meetings.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Position Requirements Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Outside-the-box thinking to meet challenges.Able to build strong working relationships both inside and outside the organization.The ability to learn crucial aspects of our business.Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate professionally.Experienced with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Understanding of sales concepts and procedures.Ability to train in Rialto, CA, and potentially other offices out-of-state.1 week per month in the office.25% travel to customers. Driver's license recommended.Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.Education and Experience Three years in a customer-facing sales role, in person and over the phone.Plumbing, heating, electrical, or irrigation industry experience preferred.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Experienced with ERP and CRM applications. Pay: $70,000 – $80,000 Annually + 20% of base salary quarterly.
