POSITION SUMMARY:The Institutional Consulting Associate is a client-facing role. Through a combination of marketing methods, client-management skills, and market and product knowledge, the Institutional Consulting Associate partners with team members to address the specific needs and service issues of clients in order to cultivate existing client relationships.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Independently improves and streamlines the service model and operational procedures for the teamCoordinates resolution of complex issues/concerns received from the institutional client with input from senior team membersIdentifies practice management opportunities through various firm channelsEstablishes and cultivates relationships with new institutional clients and proactively helps to resolve issues and concernsProvides support on products and servicesConducts quarterly/annual business performance reviews in conjunction with the Financial AdvisorAdditional requirements may include:Develops customized presentation materials and manages performance measurements for existing accounts in order to attract new institutional clientsCollaborates with the Financial Advisor in developing overall business plans and marketing strategies by independently targeting prospective institutional clients and create/plan the content of seminarsInitiates, organizes, promotes, and sets up seminars for clients and prospects on behalf of the Financial AdvisorIndependently assists institutional clients with market and stock researchIndependently develops, implements, and communicates new procedures, products, and portfolio enhancements to institutional clientsCoordinates enrollment campaigns/meetings for institutional investorsAttends seminars or client meetings with Financial Advisor and coordinates the distribution of marketing presentations to clientsAssigns work to team's Client Service Associate and/or Technical Analyst, as appropriateEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:Education and/or ExperienceMinimum of 10 years of post-high school education and/or work experience in a field relevant to the position requiredAdvanced degree or professional certification preferred (e.g. former attorney, CPA, extensive background in financial services)Active Series 7, 63 and 65 or Series 7 and 66Additional product licenses may be requiredKnowledge/SkillsFinancial industry and product knowledgeKnowledge of applicable compliance rules and regulationsProficient in applicable software applicationsAbility to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues and clientsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEvidence of strong leadership skills or previous supervisory experienceREPORTS TO:Complex Business Service Officer and a dotted line to the Business Service ManagerMorgan StanleyEOE committed to diversifying its workforce.M/F/D/V
