Seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and creative professional for an Instructional Designer (ID) - Expert position to create engaging and effective customized learning products, using sound instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies within the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence's in Fort Huachuca, AZ, in connection with the EDIF-IE contract. Candidate will mentor an integrated team of IDs to design training solutions supporting classroom face-to-face learning environments and distributed learning (dL).
The Expert (ID-E) is expected to manage work within established time, scope, and budget project parameters as determined by the customer. Additionally, the ID-E collaborates with other contractor team members, active-duty soldier subject matter experts (SME), and Department of Army Civilians (DAC) to conduct front end analysis and data analysis that results in project deliverables. Examples include, but are not limited to, course flows, learning objectives, assessment strategies, and lesson plans.
Roles and Responsibilities: Designs and develops learning objective documents, assessment strategies, and lesson design documents in support of resident training, remote/virtual learning environments, and blended learning. Reviews approved methods of instructions for best fit with learning objectives, time available, and instructor-to-student ratios. Maintains currency on changes in educational research and emerging evidence-based trends in education, relevant to education and training conducted by the Intelligence Center of Excellence. Ensures document logic, accuracy, appropriate tone for audience and language consistency. Creates detailed content outlines and learning scenarios/vignettes. Designs effective learning activities that accomplish learning objectives. Coordinates with project personnel and subject matter experts to ensure that final products achieve the intended learning and training objectives. Designs formative and summative assessment strategies. Only occasionally directed in some aspects of the work. Provides feedback on deliverables prior to submission to the government client. Adheres to the government client approved chain of command communication policy. Coordinates and designs compilation of materials for Just-in-Time Training (JITT) events for SMEs and course personnel. Communicates effectively within the framework of an Army training culture. Performs other related duties and assignments as required and as assigned. Job Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen. Interim Secret to start, must be able to receive and maintain a TS/SCI within first year. Bachelor's Degree. Education must include at least 24 semester credits focused on educational research, learning theory, education technology, instructional design or other related education themed courses. Courses focusing on the administration or fiscal requirements of education related organizations do not count towards the credit requirement. Minimum 6-8 years' experience in training and education or as an educator in a certified teaching discipline/instruction. Experience preference towards addressing the educational needs of adults for resident learning. Can design learning programs, activities, and curriculum that use a mixture of learning modalities to enhance adult learning. Experience must include a minimum of 2 years developing resident learning programs and curriculums. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities. Must be able to work in a dynamic and flexible environment where priorities and deadlines may change. Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with outstanding customer service skills. Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within changing priorities. Attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interface with Senior-level personnel. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow. Desired Experience: Master's degree in instructional design, curriculum design, secondary education, or adult education. Possesses a high-performance culture mindset.
