The Instrumentation Technician I will install test equipment in development vehicles such as thermocouples, transducers, sensors, fiberoptics, accelerometers. The role will build, modify, adjust and calibrate installed devices. This role will build and install low voltage wire harnesses to drawings and schematics. The Instrumentation Technician I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.
As an Instrumentation Technician I, you will be responsible for: Building and installing low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring harnesses, auxiliary battery and electrical systemsInstalling, adjusting and calibrating sensors, shunts, fiber optics, accelerometers and data acquisition systemsCollaborating with customers, fabricators, and mechanics to identify required locations for sensor installation according to Instrumentation Requirement List (IRL)Assisting in performing complete functional inspection and prove-out of instrumentation according to Instrumentation Quality Assurance (IQA)Diagnosing faulty low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring systems and repairWorking with electronic functional and measurement tools, such as power supplies, function generators, and multimeterMaintaining records by entering notes into service repair requestsKeeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairsParticipating in daily shop organization and clean-upTo be considered as an Instrumentation Technician I, you will need: High school diploma or equivalentNo previous experience requiredAble to follow procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects, such as work
