Insurance Verifier

Overview:

The Insurance Verifier provides administrative support and performs general office functions in the Outpatient Bariatric Department.
Completes insurance verification and coordinates patients clearances with their doctors.

Responsibilities:
The Insurance Verifier demonstrates ability and professional willingness to support the patients and their families through a structured surgical weight loss program.
Coordinate, monitor and document all patients authorizations / approvals and appointments as needed from outside services regarding clearance for surgery.
In all interactions with patients, members, physician, staff and visitors - demonstrates culturally sensitivity.

Qualifications:
At least 1 year experience as an Insurance Verifier in acute care/ambulatory setting.
Excellent communication skills, demonstrated through speaking, writing, telephone technique, and triage skills.
Efficient time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate customer service attitude.
Current Basic Life Support certification.
