Intake Manager

The Intake Manager is responsible for managing a team of Intake Specialists and Supervisors handling incoming authorizations from Area Agencies on Aging, Managed Care Organizations, and Health Plans for home delivered meals. 
\n Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited toManage a team of approximately 100 Intake Specialists and 5-8 supervisors handling incoming authorizations and calls from Area Agencies on Aging, Managed Care Organizations, and Health Plans for home delivered mealsTrack and document employee performance both formally and informallyComplete employee performance reviewsCreate and distribute reports as needed or as requested by senior leadershipTrain, motivate, develop, and coach employees to drive case manager satisfaction, accuracy, efficiency, and performanceDetermine training requirements for new hires and additional performance-based training for existing Intake Specialists, as neededAnswer questions from Intake Specialists and handle customer escalationsManage productivity based on department metrics to ensure workloads are being handled in an efficient and productive mannerManage Intake Specialist work schedules based on workload volume and needsAdminister access to provider portals as needed for necessary personnelFormulate and implement rapid change and process improvementsWork cross-functionally to support customer care, sales, and revenue cycle initiatives Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree5+ years' work-related supervisory or management experience in a healthcare related field, such as patient registration or patient accessPrevious experience with prior authorization process working with both payers and providersStrong problem solving and analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities, demonstrated flexibility, and ability to adapt and implement change in a timely and effective mannerProficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and ExcelStrong relationship building skills with payers and external/internal customersExcellent attention to detail to avoid administrative errors Preferred Skills and ExperienceSome post-graduate workExperience with eligibility inquiry software, such as electronic 270 files and/or secure payer web portals NAHAM or AAHAM certification Physical RequirementsRepetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingersSedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periodsVisual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
