Location: Small rural hospital in Northern California (25-bed critical access hospital) Start Date: As soon as possible Duration: Approximately 13+ weeks Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour day shifts Position Overview: This position is for an interim Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and Director of Pharmacy (DOP) at a 25-bed critical access hospital. The role involves a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on staffing. The PIC/DOP will be responsible for managing day-to-day pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with hospital and state regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Staffing (90%) : Order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, pharmacokinetics, and direct consultations with physicians and nurses. Administrative (10%) : Oversee pharmacy operations, maintain compliance, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Licensure : Active California Pharmacist license. Experience : Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, particularly in a small or critical access hospital setting.
